It’s that time of the year again when we reflect upon a technology that has swept the world over and is working its way into the Indian film business. There is a mammoth revolution in the process. Digital cinemas will change the face of the century-old cinema business just as Internet and mobile phones changed the face of communication; digital cameras changed the face of imaging; satellite & cable television changed the face of home entertainment; and MP3 technology changed the face of music.

In its first year, DAM 2008 saw guests like Tanuja Chandra, Manmohan Shetty, Mohan Krishnan, Pushpender Mishra, Bhavna Talwar and Madhushree Dutta gracing the event. This year we hope to include more events, more competitive categories, more speakers and definitely more films. DAM 2009 is scheduled from February 1 till the 3rd. This year the festival is set to take place in SIMC’s new picturesque 300-acre campus.

Entries for the competitive digital films, photography and art categories will start from December 15th till the 20th of January. Participants can also pre- register on the website from the 8th of December by sending in their information to register@thedamfest.com or to shagufta.ahmed@simc.edu.
